In the case of an international student, who wants to complete his university studies in Britain after obtaining a high school degree in his country, he will have to spend an introductory course whose duration is determined by the type of specialization or the level of the student, and ranges between one or two years … and this course will be at the university Or an accredited college or institute, which usually includes a course of four scientific subjects related to the major that the student wishes to study, in addition to the English language.

After this introductory course, the student is eligible to join the university degree directly in his field of specialization, however some specializations require the student to conduct a personal interview to determine his level before accepting to study at the university degree, such as some medical specialties.

Admission systems for British universities:

The student fills out the application form to join the universities, through (the British University and College Admission Services UCAS), lists all the details, majors and universities that he wants to join, and sends it before the start of the school year at the time specified in the form; To be subject to evaluation and examination, on the basis of which admission is made to the most appropriate universities that the student wishes to attend.

The application form includes four parts:

Basic data: The student mentions his full information, the names of universities in which he prefers to study, and the specialization he wishes to study, in addition to the application fees, and all the data related to the study costs and how they are paid.

Academic level: Specific to indicate the student’s academic qualifications, whether his diplomas obtained in his country of origin, his academic level, as well as any additional certificates or courses obtained by him, whether in the introductory preparation period or any other time, and attach them all with the form translated into English. Progress: In it the student explains briefly and a sound academic language the reasons that made him apply to study the specialty mentioned in the application for enrollment, in addition to a brief about his cultural and scientific interests in general .. The purpose of this part is to introduce the student himself to the universities applying to them, and give them a glimpse of the aspects of his scientific and cultural personality . Which is taken into consideration as an important part of the admission requirements. The recommendation letter: This part does not belong to the student, but rather the official responsible for the student’s study during the introductory year. Only the university or universities to which the student applies can access it.

It is worth noting that it is also possible for the student to apply directly to communicate with the university he wishes to study at without going through the UCAS, however, many British universities do not accept any applications for admission except through this office, which is already established to coordinate between students and different universities .
